I CONGRESO INTERNACIONAL SOBRE
TRASVASES CULTURALES EN LOS
MEDIOS AUDIOVISUALES: TELEVISIÓN Y TRADUCCIÓN
Facultad de
Letras, Universidad del País Vasco
Vitoria-Gasteiz,
28-30 de octubre de 2015
A
No

Stemming from the International Symposia on Translation, Literature and Audiovisual Media (2012) and on Cultural Transfers in Audiovisual Media: Music and Translation (2014), we shall host the «I International Conference on Cultural Transfers in Audiovisual Media: Television and Translation» in order to disseminate the results obtained under several pieces of ongoing research within the frame of the Consolidated Group TRALIMA (GIC 12_197, IT728_13). At the same time, we invite external researchers working along similar or complementary lines to submit their contributions, with the aim of making this Conference an international discussion forum that allows participants to widen perspectives and improve research efforts. We also welcome proposals from areas related to Translation Studies thus fostering a move towards multidisciplinary collaboration among the parties involved.
As a main novelty the Conference analyses the emerging leading role of television within the framework of study of audiovisual media, a highly topical subject in the international agenda on Translation Studies. A related issue currently gaining visibility in society will also be tackled, namely Media Accessibility (Audiodescription for the Visually Impaired and Subtitling for the Hearing Impaired). We are willing to establish communication flows with those sharing our interest in these new branches of Audiovisual Translation. The Organizing Committee invites contributions from members both of the academic and the professional communities. We encourage participation and the dissemination of related research results as well as of experiences linked to professional practice.
